In the Ching Dynasty, there was a nun called Long-in.
Before she became a nun, her surname was Shum and she was a native of Ka Sin.
When she was small, she saw her sister-in-law give birth to a child but when she saw how much the sister-in-law suffered, she made a vow not to marry.
Then she became a nun in the Ching-che nunnery. She practised diligently without ceasing the doctrines of the Pure Land Sect.
When she was 71 years old, she said to her disciples:
“Within 3 months, I have already dreamt 3 times that I was sitting cross legged among the lotus flowers in the precious Lotus ponds [of Amitabha’s Pure Land]. I think I will have a chance to be born in the Pure Land.”
Then she sat upright and passed away without any sign of physical illness.
